Sippy Cups
Sippy Cups
Help your little one transition from bottle to cup with confidence. Pigeon's drinking cups have been thoughtfully designed to support each stage of your baby's drinking journey, from first sips at 6 months to independent drinking.
Discover our innovative StarTouch™ range, our newest addition co-developed with speech and feeding therapists. With a unique bumpy straw design and gravity ball technology, StarTouch™ actively supports oral motor development while making drinking fun and engaging from around 6 months.
We also offer the SofTouch Step-Up range, designed specifically for transitioning from nursing bottles to weaning. The Training Straw (6+ months) features a teat-like design familiar to bottle-fed babies, whilst the Drinking Straw (12+ months) supports continued independence.
All cups feature spill-resistant technology and are BPA-free, making them safe for everyday use with water, milk, or formula.
Whether you're introducing your first cup, transitioning away from bottles, or building independence, Pigeon has the perfect option for your baby's stage. Trusted by parents and recommended by health professionals.
Early exposure to cups also helps babies develop oral motor skills like lip closure, tongue control, and the coordination needed for confident drinking and later speech development.
SofTouch Step-Up range (6+ months onwards) is designed specifically for transitioning from nursing bottles to weaning:
- Training Straw (6+ months): Features a soft, teat-like design very similar to our SofTouch bottle teats, making it familiar and easy for bottle-fed babies to latch onto and drink from
- Drinking Straw (12+ months): For older toddlers ready for more independent drinking with continued comfort and support
Choose StarTouch™ for oral development focus, or SofTouch Step-Up for a gentle, bottle-familiar transition to cup drinking.
- Bumpy textured straw: The unique surface encourages proper tongue positioning, movement, and control—building skills essential for confident drinking and later speech development
- Gravity ball technology: Allows drinking from any angle, so your baby can sip comfortably no matter how they hold the cup
- Lightweight and ergonomic: Easy for little hands to grip and carry independently
- Bright, engaging colours: Makes drinking fun and encourages daily use
- BPA/BPS-free: Safe for everyday water and milk sips from around 6 months
StarTouch™ helps babies develop strong oral motor skills whilst building independence and confidence in drinking—truly supporting the whole developmental picture.
- MagMag Spout Cup (6+ months): Soft spout introduction to cup drinking
- SofTouch Step-Up Training Straw (6+ months): Familiar teat-like design for easy transition from bottles
- StarTouch™ Straw Cup (6+ months): Advanced oral motor development through textured straw design
- SofTouch Step-Up Drinking Straw (12+ months): Continued support and independence for older toddlers
All designs encourage healthy oral motor development—proper jaw stability, tongue positioning, lip closure, and suck-swallow-breathe coordination. These foundational skills support confident chewing, speaking, and self-feeding as your child grows.

Most cups are made from durable, dishwasher-safe materials that stand up to everyday use and regular cleaning. We recommend checking individual product labels for specific care instructions, as some components may have hand-wash recommendations for optimal longevity.
- Teat-like design: The soft straw is very similar to our trusted SofTouch bottle teats, so babies already familiar with bottles find the transition natural and comfortable
- Easy latch: The familiar shape encourages confident latching without confusion or resistance
- Gradual transition: Bridges the gap between bottle feeding and independent cup drinking, making weaning gentler
- Part of a complete set: Pairs with the Drinking Straw attachment for continued use as your baby grows (12+ months)
If your baby is bottle-fed and you want a smooth, familiar transition to cup drinking, SofTouch Step-Up is ideal.
- StarTouch™ (6+ months): Suitable for babies beginning cup exploration; the gravity ball makes it easy to drink from any angle
- SofTouch Step-Up Training Straw (6+ months): Ideal if your baby is already bottle-fed and familiar with soft teats
However, every baby is different. Some prefer starting with a soft spout (like MagMag) before moving to straws. You can also offer water at meals and let your baby explore which cup style they prefer. There's no single "right" way—follow your baby's cues and readiness signs.
Components are designed to withstand daily washing, sterilisation, and regular use without leaching or degrading. You can confidently use any Pigeon drinking cup for water, milk, juice, or formula without concerns about harmful chemical exposure.
