> What sizes are large baby bottles?
Baby bottles are considered large when they are 260ml or more. They are more recommended for toddlers who drink a big amount of milk in one sitting.
> Can newborns use large baby bottles?
The ideal is to use a bottle size that reflects the amount of milk that the baby drinks. So for newborns, as they will have around 100 to 150ml in one sitting, it is recommended that you use a small baby bottle between 120 to 160ml. As the baby starts to drink a bigger amount, you can change the bottle to a bigger size.
> How many large baby bottles do I need?
The ideal is to have at least 1 bottle for every bottle feeding on the day. So, if your baby takes 5 bottle feedings on one day, you should have at least 5 bottles. But there are some things you can consider, for example, you won’t need as many bottles if you ‘re able to get them cleaned and sanitised after every feeding. On the other hand, you might need more bottles if you’ll be preparing your baby’s bottles ahead of time and storing them in the fridge.
> Do large baby bottles come with special teats?
Yes, many large baby bottles come with special teats designed to accommodate the larger bottle size and the needs of growing babies. These teats have features that address issues such as proper flow rate, anti-colic properties, and ease of use.
> Do large baby bottles fit in standard bottle warmers and carriers?
Many standard bottle warmers are designed to accommodate various bottle sizes, including larger ones. Check the specifications of the bottle warmer to see if it explicitly mentions compatibility with large bottles. Bottle carriers come in various shapes and sizes. Some are designed to fit specific bottle sizes, while others have adjustable compartments to accommodate different sizes.
> When should I replace baby bottles?
This will depend on which type of bottle you are using and how often you use it. The more you use the bottles, the sooner you will have to replace them. If you use the same bottle multiple times in a day, you will need to replace them much sooner than if you use them only once per day.
It is important to remember that you must replace any bottles immediately if they crack or break, but on average, PP bottles should be replaced every 4-6 months, and PPSU bottles every 8-12 months. Glass baby bottles can last indefinitely.
