What are the top features of good dummies?

Material: Dummies can be made from 100% food-grade silicone or natural rubber latex, ensuring easy cleaning and sterilisation. The shield and handle may be composed of polypropylene (PP) plastic, natural rubber, or silicone, with some dummies being seamless and made from a single material. Size: Consider the age-appropriate size of dummies, ranging from newborn to 6 months and 6 to 18 months, or even up to 36 months for certain brands like Hevea's orthodontic dummies. Safety: Only purchase baby dummies that meet Australian child safety standards (AS 2432:2015) to avoid choking hazards, strangulation, or infections. Ventilation: Look for dummies with ventilation holes in the shield to allow air circulation, especially if it covers the baby's nose. These holes should meet specific size requirements according to safety standards.

How can dummies be sterilised?

To ensure proper sterilisation, we recommend two methods: boiling water or steam sterilisation. For boiling water sterilisation, place the dummies in a pan filled with water and let them boil for 5 minutes.
