Q: What's the difference between the StarTouch Adapter and Straw Set, and the Replacement Straw Set?

The Adapter and Straw Set includes the adapter (which attaches to your existing SofTouch nursing bottle), the straw, and the gravity ball straw. This is the set you need if you're starting out with StarTouch. The Replacement Straw Set includes a replacement straw and gravity ball straw only. It requires the StarTouch adapter to be attached to a StarTouch Cup or SofTouch Nursing Bottle. Choose this set when you already have the adapter and simply need to replace worn straw components.

The Pigeon StarTouch Straw Cup with Gravity Ball is suitable for babies aged 6 months and above. Straw drinking supports healthy oral motor development and is a great next step once your baby is ready to transition from SofTouch Nursing Bottles.

What makes the StarTouch Straw Cup different from a regular sippy cup?

Unlike spout or sippy cups, which can encourage an immature swallow pattern, the StarTouch Straw Cup is designed to promote healthy oral motor development. Co-developed with Speech Language Pathologist Dr Lisa Lim, it features a short straw that supports tongue tip elevation for a mature swallow, an EasyDrink Valve for spill-free sipping without hard suction, and sensory bumps at the straw tip to guide your baby's lip rounding and closure. It's a purposeful step toward independent drinking.

How does the gravity ball straw work?

The built-in gravity ball straw allows your baby to sip from any angle, whether the cup is tilted or held upright. The gravity ball straw has a fully sealed, one-piece silicone design that prevents the ball from detaching and makes cleaning easier. It attaches to the connector, which then connects to the straw top. For 240ml bottles, the straw will need to be trimmed above the lower knob; no trimming is needed for 330ml bottles.

Is the StarTouch Straw Cup compatible with my existing SofTouch Nursing Bottles?

Yes. The StarTouch adapter is compatible with all Pigeon SofTouch 240ml and 330ml nursing bottles (PP, PPSU, and T-Ester), so you can transition to straw drinking without buying a whole new bottle. How do I clean the StarTouch Straw Cup?

The StarTouch Straw Cup has only 5 parts, making it easy to disassemble and clean. The gravity ball straw features a fully sealed, one-piece silicone design that prevents dirt from being trapped in corners. Pigeon's Straw Brush for Gravity Ball Straw (sold separately) is recommended for thorough cleaning of the straw interior.

Is the StarTouch Straw Cup eco-friendly?

Yes, in part. The lid, handle, and connector are made with 20% ISCC-certified bio-based plastic (mass balance approach), reducing reliance on non-renewable virgin plastic. This is the same commitment to sustainability found across our SofTouch range, where bottles are made with 20% biomass-PP certified by ISCC.

Can the StarTouch Straw Cup be used as a standalone cup, or does it need a nursing bottle?

The StarTouch Straw Cup with Gravity Ball is a standalone drinking cup that comes complete with its own cup body. The StarTouch Adapter and Straw Set and Replacement Straw Set are the products designed to attach to your existing SofTouch Nursing Bottles. Both options support your baby's transition from bottle feeding to independent straw drinking.
