FAQ's about Natural Fit Nipple Shield 16-20mm

What is the Pigeon Natural Fit Nipple Shield used for?

It’s designed to support mums experiencing latch-on challenges, flat or inverted nipples, or nipple soreness. The soft, ultra-thin silicone helps make breastfeeding more comfortable while still promoting a natural latch.

How does the butterfly shape help during breastfeeding?

The butterfly design leaves the top portion open, allowing more skin-to-skin contact and helping your baby feel your warmth and scent. This encourages a more natural, instinctive latch and better bonding.

Why might I use a nipple shield as part of my breastfeeding journey?

Nipple shields are helpful if you’re dealing with latch difficulties, sore or cracked nipples, or flat/inverted nipples. They protect delicate tissue while allowing skin-to-skin contact and can support continued breastfeeding as you address latch issues. Pigeon offers practical guidance about this in their blog post on breastfeeding for new mums, including how to use tools like shields to support a better latch.

How do I clean and care for the Pigeon Natural Fit Nipple Shield?

After every feed, wash it thoroughly with warm soapy water, rinse well, and sterilise using boiling water or your preferred sterilising method. Make sure it dries completely before storing it in its case.
